About Me

Hi!  So glad you stopped by.  I have been working as a school counselor for eight years and am lucky to say I really enjoy my work.  It is so wonderful to work in such a supportive community here in Norwich, VT.

Prior to my time at Marion Cross, I worked in California teaching mindfulness at Sacramento Country Day School, I was the K-2 school counselor at Primrose Elementary School in Somers, NY, the K-6 school counselor at Vergennes Union Elementary School, and the K-8 school counselor at Barstow Memorial School in Chittenden, VT.

It was during my time as an AmeriCorps volunteer after graduation from St. Michael's College that I realized I wanted to work in a school setting with children.  After completion of my AmeriCorps post, I went on to get my MA in general psychology from Adelphi University and started my formal employment in education as a learning specialist at Proctor Academy in Andover, NH.  After a few years working with students one on one to develop academic success plans I came to realize that emotional and social issues often were the biggest hurdle to academic success and personal happiness, which is what brought me to UVM to get a MS in school counseling.

I live in Thetford, VT with my husband and three children.  After five years away from northern New England, we are glad to be back in such a beautiful corner of the country. In my free time (ha!) I enjoy cooking, running, yoga, reading mysteries and spending time with family and friends.
